GHOSTFACE

AKA:

VARIOUS

Was a bastard in:

Scream (1996), Scream 2(1997), Scream 3 (2000)

So who the Hell is he?

Well, lots of people really and not allof them are a 'he' either thank you very much. In fact the 'Ghostface'mask (inspired by the Edward Munch
surrealist painting 'The Scream') has been worn by no less than 6 different murderous loons. The reaons for the slaughter of, in most cases, nearly
everybody they know has different (and increasingly tenuous) motives but they are always fixated on the same girl, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell).

That's not a knife...

It is actually, a really big one. One of the trademarks of the Ghostface costume is the barabrically large and devilshly sharp looking knife he uses to gut people 'like fish' or just wave arouund in an alarmingly frantic manner or just use to make that really cool metallic 'sccchiiing' noise as he draws it from wherever he keeps it stashed under that robe - somewhere made of metal going by that noise.

Why for the love of God, why?!!?

Every person who has taken on the Ghostface persona has had their own reason for doing so. Of coourse these are usually all complete toss and make only the vaguest amount of sense. They range from simple revenge to some bizzare attempt at celebrity or something.

It doesn;t really matter why they're doing it at the end of the day, in fact it doesn't really even matter who it is behind the mask. Ghostface is only fun as long as we don't know who's behind the mask.

What's the damage?

Ghostface has caused all manner of carnage in his various guises. Some of the more painful and memorable were the guy getting stabbed through a cubicle wall straight in the ear and the girl who was crushed by the motorised garage door.

It's a million to one chance but it might just work...

Being only human, Ghostface is just as vulnerable as anybody else a fact that is refreshingly exploited in the Scream movies. He is always getting the crap beaten out of him by his intended victims (though they all wind up getting it in the end).

To permanently put him down though just shoot him, stab him, electrocute him, whatever springs to mind really.

Words of wisdom:

"What's your favourite scary movie Sidney?"
