THE TALL MAN

AKA:

Jebediah Morningside(Angus Scrimm)

Was a bastard in:

Phantasm(1979)
Phantasm II(1988)
Phantasm III: Lord of the Dead(1994)
Phantasm IV: OblIVion(1998)

So who the Hell is he?

The Tall Man was once seen in the 19th century as your friendly neighborhood mortician, Jebediah, until he became possessed by a vile lifeform from another dimension(after entering said dimension). He goes about taking out everyone who has the misfortune of crossing his path(or dying wherever he dwells), sending their brains to become flesh-drilling spheres and their
bodies to become butt-ugly dwarves, who work on the high-gravity planet he
originated on.

Ray Sawyer

Every town he does his dirty work in has empty coffins in the place of the dearly departed, as people need no life in their bodies to become another one of the Tall Man's allies.

The Tall Man has a lot of minions, such as some rather grumpy fellow morticians, those irritating Jawa-look-alike dwarves, and the gas-mask wearing Gravers.

That's not a knife...

One of the Tall Man's trademarks are those shiny silver spheres, the Sentinels, that fly about, piercing people's skulls and drilling out the yummy stuff within. Also of note is a shinier, bigger, golden version that blows stuff up with lasers.
But the fun doesn't stop there! Oh, no! He also possesses the strength to lift up an entire casket with one arm, he can change his appearence at will, and he has some nifty telekinetic abilities.
And, actually, on occasion, he uses a knife. Kid stuff next to the spheres.

Why, for the love of God, why?!

The Tall Man wants to create as many dwarves, spheres, and zombified goons
as possible to perform slave labor on his planet and at the mortuaries he
lurks around in, and he also wants Mike Pearson, who's one of the only dopes
who knows what's going down and has lived to tell the tale.

So what's the damage?

The Tall Man has murdered many people in his quest to get more workers. Some
of the more noteworthy victims are the priest who gets the crap sliced out
of his by the sphere that the Tall Man sics on him, and the mortician who
has a Sentinel fly into his body, which tries to escape...out his mouth.

It's a million-to-one chance but it just might work...

The Tall Man has shown vulnerability to certain sound pitches, cold, and the
injection of hydrochloric acid through the neck. (OW.) Unfortunately, within
a matter of minutes another, identical Tall Man, which may very well be the
same as the last, will arrive to take the previous one's place.

Words of wisdom:
