While the trailer doesn’t seem to suggest a massively original premise, this nevertheless looks like it could bring a real touch of class to a genre overburdened with crass remakes and torture porn. The trailer is beautifully shot with some really arresting imagery and a deliciously dark and brooding atmosphere. It’s brought to us by Lars Von Trier and stars the wonderful Willem Dafoe alongside Charlotte Gainsbourg so its pedigree is high.

As are our expectations…
