Bloody Disgusting have just alerted us to a new trailer for the sequel to the marvellous Portugese film, [Rec] which despite having only been released last year has already suffered the indignity of an American remake – Quarantine.

The first film detailed the plight of a young reporter and her cameraman as they accompany a fire-fighting crew dispatched to an apartment building where one of the residents has become mysteriously ill. Before long the building is closed off, residents are dying off at an alarming rate and undead maniacs are running around all over the place.

The new trailer does not give away much but it does seem to suggest that it will all be set in the same building as the first part and will involve an armed team of soldiers attempting to make the place safe.

With not a huge amount of success we'd wager.

With original writer and directors, Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza, returning this looks set to be just as intense and disturbing as the first. Consider us very interested...
